I can't find "the Forum Voip test". I'm sorry, I even searched the forum. Am I missing something stupid?
Second, I tried to run the comparison, but obviously it won't work since I don't have the Vonage modem plugged in. Maybe it has nothing to do with that, so I ran it anyway, and it just sat there, not starting. It's not java, I'm updated, it didn't even get to the status bar.

It's quite troubling that the test at www.testyourvoip.com won't run. You absolutely do not need the Vonage box on line for that to work- only your computer. Let's see what the forum test has to say. If it won't run either, then it may be that your new service is doing something wrong.

Neither speed test produced any results. I let each one run for over 2 hours and no results.
This is another of my fears: That Telecom Italia may be pulling a mafia bit on me and keeping my line hostage for their own Voip product.
The funny thing is that I found a blog entry by a guy who had telecom and Vonage in Rome and he said it was working great. I've emailed him, but no response.
Maybe a call to Telecom Italia is in order. Thoughts?

Very much so. The fact that neither Voip test will run pretty much indicates that it's not a problem with your Vonage adapter, but with your ISP. Call and see what they say.
However, I don't believe I would refer to a "mafia bit" <G>.
