As of tomorrow I will have been with Vonage for one year and I've been patiently waiting for Vonage to be able to port a local North Augusta, SC number. Just last week they started offering numbers in Augusta, GA and Aiken, SC which is part of the local calling area of North Augusta, SC so I guess my question is does anybody have any idea when they'll be able to port my North Augusta number which my family has had for almost 40 years. I really don't want to lose it but I'm getting tired of carrying around 2 phones all the time. |

Don't know the answer to your question, but why are you "carrying around 2 phones all the time"?
If you are keeping your old number and paying for two services, why don't you have call forwarding on the old number and have it forwarded to your Vonage number . . . then just carry around 1 phone. And if forwarding would be long distance, switch to one of the new numbers with Vonage that is in your local calling area.
I know it is not an ideal solution, but seems better than juggling 2 phones! |

You might want to check Vonage's website in the availability page if they can already port your number.
Are you having a long distance number for your Vonage phone today? You might want to change that to a local number using the Aiken town since this will still be local in N Augusta SC.
Or you might want to downgrade your plan from your old carrier to the basic service so as to cut down cost on your phone bills..
