i pay 50$ a month for a phone i can only use 50% of the time and i am about to drop Vonage and tell everyone i know to never even think about it. the service need to be upgraded or im out

Would be helpfull if you provided your ISP and the speed of service you subscibe to.

I think this is funny his to blame Vonage but fails to forget its most likely his ISP / Hardware causing the problem check your DSL/Cable Modem, Router ,& your speeds to because if your isp is running slow yeah Vonage isn't going to run correctly it uses alot of bandwidth

lol dont go there im on telus dsl running SRX 400 wi-fi
i dont go slow and and u can talk for over 3 hrs a day and still use under 1 gb of bandwith

What is your configeration? Where is the Voice adapter in your network and what model is it? Have you talked with Vonage Service and let them run some diagnostics.

dsl-300g to SRX 400 to IP-8100 Vtech and yup talked to Vonage whent up the chain and the engineers need to look at line i did a tracerout made shure i was'nt losing packets anywhere and all the fun stuff Twisted Evil

This happened to me the other day and there is nothing wrong with my setup, isp etc. I just left it alone and it worked fine after a few minutes. First time since I joined Vonage.

hey clay, I'm in the industry and sell these things everyday and the one thing that keeps giving us trouble is the vtech and it's not your isp or your config, it's the internal router of the unit, nothing customer service can solve. my advice is get either the PAP or what I have is the Dlink adaptor and either a wired or wireless router and a cordless phone. Why did yu get this Vtech? do you live in an apt? your problems will be solved.

If the there's no packet loss, Voip tests report great results, and speeds are good, then there's a hardware problem somewhere. And I agree, vtech = crap. My experience with them has been terrible, very sub par products. They can't even make a regular cordless phone, so I can just imagine what their phone adapter is like.

Get the Dlink, PAP2 or the Motorola VT2442 (which I have and is rock solid) and a good panasonic cordless phone (I have the 5.8ghz gigarange 2 handset model).

Not sure why Vonage even offers the vtech.. probably cause them more trouble then it's worth. If they want to offer a cordless, just combo the dlink with a decent panasonic cordless. However, I bet they're getting the vtechs for a nickel a piece, which would explain it.
