if I'm downloading files from the internet, my Vonage phone connection turns to crap... is there any way to fix this... I have cable modem and wireless router.... some sort of override where Vonage gets the priority over whatever I might be downloading until after the call? |

Since this is an internet service if you are downloading large files this will happen on occasion. It makes note of that on Vonage's website.

What you could try is using the port forwarding feature on your existing router. You can find the settings by searching for port forwarding on Vonage's website.

The other thing to do is to upgrade your current router with one that supports QoS ( Quality of Service) http://www.vonage.com/help.php?article=1097 This will give the Voip calls priority. There are several settings to increase or decrease priority. Dlink & the others make versions that support QoS and are not that expensive.
I hope this helps! |

Please post the technical details listed in the sticky message at the top of the forum. Generally speaking, Vonage router/adapters will prioritize for phone service, but other equipment in your setup may override that. |
