Hi guys,
I am travelling and need V Phone to work. On my laptop(Windows XP) I get an error device unrecognized. After head butting with two level of CS people, I was suggested that I get a new device.
This device was working on Samsung q1 (Windows XP Tablet OS) partially. The key pad would show up, I would listen to others ring and I coudl ring others, but couldn't talk using the supplied headsets. And some vonage application would hog 80-90% of CPU. The same issue with by roommates' laptop XP.
The second device is worse. It is not even recognized by my Q1 and same unrecognised devic issue with my laptop.
Please help I will be travelling out of the country and don;t want to carry linksys router

I personally do not have or use the V-phone but I did see in a thread below yours where they were having an issue with CPU usage and the V-phone and what was done to correct it.
Who's using V-Phone?

I have sent a pm to Doug about options.ini file. But that USB is at best buy now. I got a new V phone usb which is giving is this installer issue. I have talked to at least 6-8 hours to CS people and no result. I will be travelling to Europe next week to as a last desparate measure I sent this forum post.
I plan to use soft phone where ever I can ... I am allowed to plug in my q1. But for public cafe's v phone might have been the best bet |

Since time is of the essence, and if Doug's suggestion does not correct the installer issue, I would return and exchange the V-phone for a new one if it's still under warranty. Sorry I can't be more helpful. |

First, I would delete the options.ini file in the Vonage folder on the USB stick. (It is a hidden file so you will have to change Windows explorer to display hidden files.) The V-Phone will re-create this file the next time you start it. This may solve your problem.
The other issue to check is what device letters are assigned to your V-Phone, and change them if necessary. Fortunately, Vonage has a FAQ on this: http://www.vonage.com/help.php?article=1148&category=100&nav=5#ts5 |

Guys, my second drive is giving me installer issues. I have tried at a couple of friend's PC's same. I think it is bad and I plan to go to Best buys and change it.
My first phone had the CPU 100% issues same as Doug. So, if the new phone has the same issue again. I know what to do now.
Will keep you posted if I face any other problem with the third V-phone |
