his has been happening for a while now.. Whenever I talk to someone on the phone the sound cuts out when I'm speaking. So if the person on the other side is talking while I'm talking I can't hear them. The voice quality is really good when I'm not talking. It doesnt get choppy or anything like that.

The sound is fine on thier end if I'm talking or not however. Does anyone know why it's doing this and how can I fix it?

I'm using Cogeco Cable Internet
Kingston, Ontario, Canada
Motorola VT2442

THANKS Smile

Those numbers look pretty reasonable. Please run a comparison test at www.testyourvoip.com (test call to Boston) and post the results here.

Since it's been happening for awhile, I assume that you've re-booted your equipment since it started. If not, you should do that.

Does anything change if you take the VT2442 out of the circuit and re-run the test?

What does the rest of your network look like? What kind of phone are you using?

Everything looks very reasonable. Do you have any wireless components? Does the problem occur when you're using the corded phone as well as when you're using the cordless? Interference is a possibility if it only happens with the cordless and you have wireless components.

It was actually happening on both the cordless and corded phone. The last call I made it didn't happen so maybe it might have fixed itself I'm not sure. I'm rarely home so I havent used to phone too much, I can't be sure if it's fixed I'll have to see if it comes back the next time I make a call.

The only thing wireless I use in the house other then the phone is my cellphone, logitech keyboard and mouse.

edit: Could it also be because I was calling a cell phone? I remember it kept happening when I was calling my gf's cell phone (rogers at&t) and when I called longdistance to Indiana (not a cellphone) yesturday it happened too.
