You CAN DO a virtual primary swap, I recently had it done on my account, you have to call cs about a hundred times to get it done. Once i finnally got someone that knew what they were doing. It was finally done.

haha..!! it thought you wanna do it on your end...

that is possible if the vonage itself will do the process...
but as far as i concern,
there's a certain process on this one...

it needs a ticket wherein we dont have the access
to do it so...

and you will face a lot of troubles..

pain in the neck!!! arg!!! Evil or Very Mad

jason788, you're right. what we do is just a DID swap. 'though it'll take a certain process for the swapping to be done, at least, we won't have the inconvenience of changing phone numbers. my current phone number was once my virtual number.

I just got off the phone with customer service.

They did it for me on my first try!

What needs to happen is that you tell them you want your virtual number to be the billing number. If they say they cannot do it, tell them that "Advanced Customer support" can perform this task. The whole process took about 20 minutes and after it's been done, you have to power cycle your adapater for 10 secs and works like a charm!!

tech support agents can do this now. newer agents may not have access to the tools to do this so request for at least tech level2. they can do it in no time. no ticket to be created. no need to wait so long. 20 minutes would be enough

yes i just went through this. the operator knew what i was asking for (swapped my virtual & primary) and did it over the phone. there were some things i learned from this, though:
1) there's an activation fee of 9.99 + taxes to make the switch
2) after the call, you'll need to wait a while then reset your router to make calls. no one bothered to tell me this, but i'm not new to Vonage either. pretty much anytime there's a change to your service, it's a good idea to reboot the router.
3) your phone account / setup resets itself to some point in the past. for instance, i had to re-update my "network down" number (it was set to ring my ex-wife's cell (how nice Rolling Eyes)). if you do make the switch, i recommend you take the time to go through all of your features and re-configure as necessary.

i'm left with one small problem: my received calls list isn't working on the dashboard, displaying "there are no calls to display." untrue. otherwise, this went off pretty smoothly Smile
