I was upgraded to 1.01.07 as well and some of my port forwarding broke. Its weird -- http traffic works but other traffic, like SSH, does not.
I work for Cisco which owns Linksys. I made some calls internally and there is no record of this issue. I asked if Vonage had a case opened regarding the RTP300 and port forwarding. Nobody could find one. I was told that we need to call Vonage support and demand a case ID number for Linksys support. If we get one, I can follow up.
I don't have time to call myself but if somebody can post the case ID, I can follow up on it. |

I have the RTP300 Vonage router that I use a my main router. I have also have a Wireless-G Broadband Router - WRT54G - 2.0 that I use as switch to connect all of my wireless pc's. After serveral months of no problems or interruptions with my network. I have been having to reboot my router aproximately 4-5 times a day. After calling my cable company and changing various settings on my RTP300 I called up Vonage only because the firmware could only be upgraded by Vonage representative. My router is still dropping internet connection but less frequently. What could possibly have caused this turn of events? I am open to any suggestions. Before the firmware upgrade I had version 1.00.62 now I have 1.01.07

In general, you're best running your own routers and leave the RTP300 strictly as a voice device. Then Vonage can play with it all they want and they won't deep-six your internet connection. By the same token, the RTP300 is a terrible router which crashes under moderate loads. If your connection keeps dropping, beg/borrow/steal a router -- it'll probably fix the dropout issues. |
