I have talked to 7 different people. All of them tell me I can activate and take my number with me...but I cant even activate on line.
First it tells me I cant port my number, but Vonage reps tell me I can and Vonage Website tells me I can. I cant even get a new number....
I am starting to think its a mistake to come back to vonage.
Anyone else trying to activate on line? |

I finally got activated...but I had to get a new #. Once I was activated, I called Vonage to see if I could get my # ported over. They told me that my current ISP - Comcast must have too many features on so they cant port it over. Their suggestion was to cal land have things turned off....I called and had things turned off, I didnt have anything on out of the usual. Call Waiting, Vmail...and call forwarding. I kept the Call forwarding on, so I can have my normal # forwarded to the new vonage number.
The first guy I talked to told me it would cost 9.99 to port it over. I told him no way...if the web site was working the right way...I woundt have had to go through all this....
Just had to vent and update..... |

If you want to reactivate your account with vonage using the same adapter and number you have before-you can do so. What happens is you need to contact vonage and ask them to do a MAC and DID swap for your old account. Let the rep check if nobody is using your old number now.
MAC swap is they have to configure your old adapter and activate it again.
DID swap is they'd have to assign you a temporary number, swaps it with your old number in your old account then activate your old number in a new account using the same adapter.
This can be done with in 24/48 hours...
This is pretty easily actually...maybe the rep misunderstood you. |

I called in...supposedly, my old account is stil there with my number.
I guess they have to delete it from the DB, and then readd it to port over, as it is the same number I had before.
Told me it could take 24/48 hours or so....
I actually sold my old PAP2 when I left Vonage last year.....so that wasnt an option for me.
thanks |
