Here is an analyst that actually works for a credible firm. You may not agree with his opinions, but at least he's independent.

"Albert Lin, an industry analyst with American Technology Research, said the V-Phone probably would not have the impact Vonage anticipates. "It's a little more important from an appearance standpoint," Lin said. "The reality is that almost anybody could develop that kind of software."

Yet Lin is bullish on Vonage, perhaps more than any other analyst. He has a buy rating on the stock and a 12-month target price of $15. "Despite all this competition, they've been able to obtain a sizable and loyal customer base," he said.

Lin said Vonage needed to amass about five million customers to become profitable. But before that happens, Lin said, he suspects that some bigger company will come along and pluck up Vonage for its customer base.

"They're an acquisition candidate well before they're likely to become a stand-alone profitable company," he said. "

Edge, everyone on Wall Street is a lying *beep*. No exceptions.

Also the version of the article I read the author disclosed that he was short VG. So he isn't hiding anything.

No Not all analysts are lying. Some are objective and are looking at the stock objectively.

I don't believe an analyst can be objective if he/she is short the stock. They are trying to push the stock down.

I like to read analyst reports when they are objective. I read a report last week that gave Vonage a failing grade with regards to public relations, but recognized that with a market valuation of $600 per subscriber and with subscriber growth of over 30% a year, it was just a matter of time that the stock popped.

That was his opinion. He wasn't long/short the stock and he wasn't one of the underwriters. He just recognized with a subscriber list of 2MM and with growth like VG has, there is a possibility that the stock could reprice to the upside.

Seems plausible to me.

It will be interesting to see what all of the short sellers do when the stock starts to gap upwards.

Yep, those short sellers are really paying the price now! Umm... wait...

Citron and his buddies can continue to buy a few hundred thousand shares in a fruitless attempt to boost this stock (temporarily). When the average daily volume is well under a million shares traded, of course a buy order of 190,000 shares is going to boost the stock. However, they've tried this twice and it's only resulted in the stock holding a moderate gain for a couple of days.

I'm sure he's telling all of his employees that the Q3 results are positive and they should not sell on November 20. I feel sorry for those employees who actually believe him. Those employees never stood a chance.

On the other hand, I'm absolutely baffled by those who paid for shares on the open market and continue to hold onto them or actually increased their holdings. Tracking this stock is like watching a car wreck in progress.
