DLINK VTA Phone 1 blinking no dial tone

Problem solved. My ISP allots a static IP and that static IP was lost some how on the Dlink VTA device. With customer supports help, logged on to the Dlink VTA page and set the Static IP address as told by them. The dial tone is good now.
Wonder why it happened in the first place.
Any idea?

You wonder why what happened in the first place? If your ISP requires a static IP, then it would be normal to have problems until you've set the VTA up for that. The default is dynamic addressing.
If you're referring to the blinking phone light, that really is strange. Normally with the situation that you've described I would expect you to have a blinking power light.
