Post subject: I really hope the phone is the problem
Thanks for the suggestions. I carry around a cheap phone that I did buy at Walmart. It worked well last April, but maybe it is the weak link. I borrowed the hall phone and cord in the hotel but still got a fast busy. I'll try buying another one and see of that's the problem. It would be great of the solution were that simple.
Thanks again everyone. Joe

Post subject: Same location, later date, but still frustrated
Now I've got the Motorola VT2142. I am in the same hotel in China where
Vonage
worked last year but didn't this year. I have internet access so the router part of the unit is working. I also have dial tone and can receive incoming calls. However whenever I try to dial out, I get the "fast busy signal". I have tried the following:
Different phone cord
Different phone
All different phone numbers
Using just the phone and not the internet
Switching ports for the phone
This is driving me nuts!!!!!!
What can be causing the fast busy and keeping me from dialing out?
PLEASE HELP!!
