I have a vt1005v modem. I should be able to connect two separate lines to the modem. However, a phone plugged into jack 1 works, but a phone plugged into jack 2 does not. Never has. Anyone know the fix?

The jack 2 phone port is for a second line, not for an additional phone using line 1.

or for dedicated fax line//if u want to use ur other phones all thru out the house - refer to the hard wiring section of this forum
