I've been a satisfied customer of Vonage since May 2005 but will have to leave soon as I'm moving house to an area where cable isn't available. (I'll have to have a land-line to get ADSL broadband).
Does the disconnection fee still apply? I remember reading somewhere it did if you left within 6 months but then it was free after that, but can't find anything on the help pages. They seem to suggest it applies at all times.
Have I just dreamt that??!! Can anyone help?

You dont have to have cable broadband to stay with Vonage, it works with ADSL, as long as you dont have a USB only modem. Look at getting an ADSL router with built in modem that stays switched on all of the time, just like your cable modem was.
I have the same set up, and rent my ex BT line from a company called IT Plc, www.itplc.com , its cheaper than BT, I just use that line as a circuit for my ADSL service (Until the day we see Naked DSL in UK) which of course supports my Vonage service just fine.

the disconnection fee would apply if you cancel your vonage account after the 30 day money guarantee and within 12 months or 1 year. |

here's what i would suggest. since you'll be having adsl and that requires a phone line, why don't you just set your adsl phone line with the cheapest plan and vonage for your calling needs.. that is if you make a lot of calls and would need the vonage calling plan. |
