Same problem that occurred last week. The audio starts cutting out on calls. The Ethernet light, which normally flashes rapidly during the call, suddenly stops flashing and stays lit. When this occurs, the audio is gone. As soon as it starts flashing again, audio resumes. I have plenty of bandwidth. This seems to be the same issue I and others had last week and Vonage finally fixed it that day. Unfortunately, it's back here. Anyone else notice this? |

Yes, just got off a conference call where this was happening. Very frustrating... At first I thought it was that some of the people were on cellphones, but no one else complained of anything even though key parts of the conversation were being cut out. What's up??!! After reading through the forums I'm afraid to call tech support because I don't have an hour and a half to waste on this! |

Sounds to me like you are dropping packets somewhere along your transmission. Have you tried running a ping and/or some tracerts to see if you are getting any heavy latency on any of the servers that you hop on? |

If were just happening to one of us at at time, yeah, I'd probably agree there may be an issue outside Vonage.
But, it happens to multiple people across the country at the same time. It is the same issue that happened to numerous people at the same time last week.
Vonage posted they had a problem on their website last week when the same situation occurred. I appears to have happened again, but the duration today was shorter. |

Yes - this started happening about a week and a 1/2 ago...
Still tonight until about 11:30pm and then it stopped.
Exactly as described -- call light on the Motorola box stops flashing, call is dead for 1-4 seconds, and then it comes back up like nothing happened.
However, this does NOT happen on inbound calls... but does happen on ALL outbound calls, CAN & US every night -- not during the day, though.
Anyone hear anything from Vonage on their fix for this?? I've been on Vonage for 2+ years, and this has never happened.
Stats from testyourvoip are 4.2 in and 4.4 out on Bellsouth DSL 6M/512K.
Vonage -- please fix this!!! |

This has started happening to me recently as well - every time I have a conference call. Sometimes I got many minutes inbetween cutouts. sometimes the cutouts are short and other times > 1 minute, but it always happens during a call. Very frustrating. |

I'll be on a call or call somebody and they can't hear me. I'm cutting our or something. Does anybody know what to do? I have a DSL solely dedicated for the VOIP. So, I know its not my DSL. My Lingo phone doesn't do that and that is even cheaper. |

This usually happens with VOIP over DSL.
***WITH VOIP, DSL FILTERS BECOME VERY IMPORTANT.***
• Try mixing and matching your DSL Filters on different Voice Lines.
Watch the DSL Light on your DSL Modem. If you put the filter on a
line that doesn't need it, the DSL Light with cut off almost
immediately.
• The length of the phone line becomes very important with VOIP. If
you have a lot of phone lines that are over 25 feet in length, the \
signal quality of VOIP will drop. Either Disconnect some phone lines
or shorten the cables. |
