Setup:
Modem >Router > Vonage Motorola vt1005
For oever a year I had statically assigned the phone adapter an ip address to make use of my QoS feature of my router. All of a sudden...a few days ago...things went kaput. I can no longer access my phone adapter. I want to restore the default settings on the phone adapter, which is a tad hard to do seeing as I cannot access it.
Does anyone know any trix or a secret button to mash to that it will reset to factory defaults?
Another side question. My g/f has a linksys version of a Vonage phone adapter...how would I take hers over and use it for my phone #?
Thanks in advance!!!

My whole problem is that I manually changed the ip address of the vt1005.
My setup:
Modem > Router > Vonage (computers also behind router)
Router Linksys WRT54GX 192.168.1.1
I changed the vt1005 ip to 192.168.1.60. With a gateway of 192.168.1.1. Subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 I turned off the DHCP server as well.
My computer ip is 192.168.1.50. Same gateway and subnet mask.
I cannot connect to vt1005. In order to restore the factory defaults...I must connect to the vt1005, which I cannot do.
Its obviously connected...as I get 4 blinks signifying "registering with Vonage servers"
I tried this: Modem > vt1005 > computer ---- and go no ip address...no connectivty...nothing. |

when u connected the device directly to modem and the computer and still u are not able to get the ipaddress.have u connected the modem to the internet port of the Vonage device and the computer connected to the ethernet port of the Vonage device.try to ping 192.168.102.1 in the command prompt and tell me the result. |
