999 Calls, no details displayed to operator.

Why is that your name, number, address and phone number cannot be seen by a 999 operator with Vonage, I used to work for a well known UK cable company and my job was to extract all details from new lines to enable this to be done and was a requirement by law with all Licensed Operators in UK (An OFCOM requirement to all fixed line UK operators)
In Vonage US, they update their details on line with Vonage to give them E911 (Enhanced 911), why cant this be done in the UK with Vonage UK??
Arent Vonage put our lives in danger by not allowing this, or is it the lack of response from UK telco operators in assisting Vonage UK to do this??

As per my previous listing, since then I have had to call 999 due to an incident near to me......due to me having an 01244 number on the border of the 01606 code my call was put thru to the wrong place (Wales instead of Cheshire) this delayed the police response and could have been dangerous. If only they had my address they could have routed the call correctly.

Kerry, could you please give your opinion on this, when are Vonage going to do something about this??? : Mad

had a simular problem, we live in South London the wife called 999 and asked for police and was routed to Essex! They wanted to know how we managed to get through to them, also line would not clear propery after call and irate police telephone operator kept teeling wife to replace the handset even though every time she did it the phone would ring and the police where on the end of the line! Also she forgot to replace the handset once only to hear a telephone converation between to other people a little later! Strange

Contact Vonage and advise them of this, they will raise a ticket to get the details listed, I actually called Gamma Telecom to check it out, they are the people that supply Vonage with the UK numbers and do the 999 database for them.
Gamma Telecom-0808 178 8000, then option 2 for Provisioning...explain to them that yopu are a Vonage customer and need to check your 999 details with them, if you give them your number and name/address they usually confirm it back, they cant change anything for u, as this has to be requested from Vonage.

I have noticed in the past few days that a button is now available under features to allow UK Vonage users to update their address information that is sent to 999/112 operators in an emergency call. This is about time too, seeing as other telco's in UK have been doing it for years!
