You've certainly disconnected everything that needs disconnecting, and then some. What did you do with the wires you disconnected? You should tape the ends so that the bares wires can't touch one another or anything else.
If that still leaves you with a problem, go into the house and unplug every phone that's currently plugged into a wall jack. I assume you meant that when you plug the Vonage box into a wall jack the phone light starts blinking. Does it still do that after you've taped the wires and unplugged all the phones? |

Dear Steve 48: Thanks for answering me....for whatever reason, I had not done what you asked so I went around, pulled all phones out...repowered vonage and plugged only it back into wall. Then tried to plug phones into other outlets in house...and crazily enough they all worked! I burned up half a day yesterday for no reason...BUT oddly enough, the phone light to phone 1 still blinks very slowly on and off and I read it should be steady. But so far it works. Ive called it from cell phone, called cell phone from it. so far so good. thanks for the suggestion....!! following your suggestion seemed to reset things or something...Happy in pa! ps do you agree I should have left the one black wire coming from the cable co's side as it is a grounding wire? |

Yes, I'd say you were right to leave the black wire alone.
Which adapter do you have? On some (maybe all?) it's normal for them to blink if you have a phone off the hook. It's also normal for them to blink if you have voice mail. |

I think it will. Let us know.
By the way, there are several different phone adapters. If you have more trouble, we'll probably need to know which one you have. |

All up and running! deleted voicemail and works like a charm! No blinking lights no problems... Thanks so much for the help! Saved me some rediculous house call payment to some electrician! |

My Verizon box is identical to the photos posted above, and today, I decided to try and remove the two wires leading into the green and red screws from Line 1, so that I could determine whether this would terminate the Verizon signal entering my home. I did so, went inside, picked up a phone, and there was still a dial tone. So I plugged a phone directly into the box outside, next to the red/green screws (see photos above of the box), and still experienced a dial tone. I expected that by removing the two wires leading into the red and green screws, I would no longer hear a dial tone, and the house would be free from Verizon service. I didn't check all the phones in our home for a dial tone, but I assume that all phones should have been terminated by disconnecting those wires.
Any ideas what I may need to do to terminate this signal?
Thanks! |

You say that you plugged a phone directly into the jack in the box (no pun intended) and got a dial tone. To do that, you had to open the little door inside the box and swing it back. If you leave it swung back, do you get dial tone inside the house? |

Thanks for the reply Steve. I opened the little door as you suggested, and I still receive a dialtone inside the house. |
