We've noticed recently that the voice of certain people we have called will intermittently cut out and then come back on after a few to several seconds. They can still hear our voice, but we cannot hear them. The call doesn't always terminate, or drop. It doesn't happend with all phone calls, either; but perhaps the time of day has something to do with it? We were having trouble Saturday night around 7:00pm.
We're using the VTech 8100 IP router/phone and Comcast High Speed Internet coming through a Motorola SB5100 Surfboard cable modem. |

1. Saint Paul, MN (55118)
2. Comcast High Speed Internet
3. Upload: 384Kbps Download: 6Mbps
4. Motorola SB5100 Surfboard cable modem
5. VTech 8100 IP
6. Modem---->Vonage Adapter-->PC
7. Choppy audio -- the person I am talking to cuts in and out, so I cannot hear them at times, though they can still hear me the entire time. Happens often when I call voice mail, too. Occasional dropped calls as well.
8. We don't have Java installed for the VoIP test. |

OK, you can run an alternate test at www.testyourvoip.com . Run a test call to Boston and post the detailed results. |

Sorry, I should have realized that.
Do you have a cooperative friend with a broadband connection? If so, it would be informative if you can take your Vonage gear and see how it performs on another system. |

Well, after all that I'm afraid I don't have much to suggest. The test results look very good, though I'm puzzled as to why the QoS is so low when the other numbers all look good.
I gather you installed Java (?). If so, you might want to run a comparison test at the other site. |
