PBX in a small office environment? I have wired my office's PBX (Panasonic) both when we originally purchased it and when we recently moved to a new location. I had hoped to drop from four CO lines to two, but re-install two Vonage lines. I recently have been told it will not work but without an explanation. Could someone in this forum address this situation? Could my system be modified so that I could run a Vonage line through my PBX? Thank you.

I would question the person who told you that it won't work closely. Vonage adapters simulate ordinary land lines quite well, and I see no reason why it wouldn't work.
Do a search through the forum and you'll find a number of discussions on the subject. |

It depends on how your Panasonic system is configured, but if it can accept analog POTS lines, it'll take the Vonage adapters quite happily. Now, if you take a PRI line in, forget it. |

rbellrbell,
on your PBX you will need to configure your trunks for loop-start and not ground-start and they should be fine. Don't worry about the polarity as it does not matter on loop-start.
From what I have been told over the years, PBX's like ground-start trunks I believe to have better disconnect supervision so please keep that in mind.
Good luck. |
