Dunno, but I suspect it's not that it won't work, it's that it is not "supported".

(eg. They didn't train any of their script-reading Indians in Red Hat or SuSE, so if you have to renew your IP address, they will tell you to do "ipconfig /renew" and they don't expect to hear you say you got the error "bash: ipconfig: command not found"). Wink

Given the overall quality of "support" from Vonage in general, I don't think that's all that big a deal.

PS: This post typed, like almost all of my posts, in SuSE 10.1 Wink

I suppose it's theoretically possible, but I do a good bit of my account maintenance and all of my WRTP54G maintenance from Firefox on SuSE 10.1 and it works great.

I suspect it's just a "we don't support it" rather than "it won't work".

Before you cry "boonies", think of my mother, on her Blueberry farm in central Maine.

No cable.
No DSL.
Analog cell signal only, and that intermittent.
No Wireless (well, OK, there is, but $55 a month plus a $750 startup fee, for one computer. Kinda hard for a farmer to afford.)
Choice of two ISP's, both unlimited dialup for $20-25 a month.
Phone lines support 28.8K on a good day, 26.4K average, sometimes 14.4K.
DNS lookups can take upwards of 5 seconds.
Neither ISP can keep the modem saturated, so loading simple pages can take 5-10 minutes (had to adjust Firefox timeout values just so she can surf Web).

Feel better about your choices now? Smile

PS: If WiFi is available in your area, just get a WRT54GL, load HyperWRT Thibor, and put the thing in Wireless Client mode. It'll connect as a WiFi client, and all four Ethernet ports have hot-and-cold running Internet. (grin)

I haven't ran into any problems yet. I created my account, activated my pap2, ported my number and blah blah... all in firefox from ubuntu. Everything has worked fine.

Did you run into an issue trying to do something on the site, or did you just see an "only M$ allowed" disclaimer?
