I'm considering getting a softphone account, and a bluetooth headset. My question is this: when a call comes in, how do I answer it? Can I answer from my headset, like with a cell phone, or do I need to connect from the software instead? Also, can I only use the software provided by Vonage, or can I use other applications out there? If so, what are they, and are they better? |

Vonage offers the best softphone serice you'll get. There are other providers, but they don't have the backbone strength of Vonage.
I'm not sure if the softphone generates a ringtone signal that can be shuttled out via a dongle or something to turn on a BT headset or not; somethng has to tell the headset to turn itself on and begin transceiving - a "ring signal", if you would.
However, there is a very reliable vendor, [web]http://www.eMicrophones.com[/web] who carrys the BlueParrot Headsets that are the premier BT tops, they render 'speech recognition quality' audio, (far and above BT headsets made for cellphones) can auto-answer a generated ring signal and if anyonye could make it work for you I'm sure they could.

I think even with the buttons on the headset itself, you'll have to get up and answer the phone on the computer before you hear anything on the headset. |
