All,
I currently use Vanage for ONE single line and I have a PAP2 adapter. BUT, I am now needing to have 4 business lines (ie: if Line 1 is busy and a customer calls I want to pick up the next line) and I want one of these lines to be used as an outgoing fax line as well. As my business grows, I expect to move office locations in the next 18 months, so I cannot get a large EXPENSIVE PBX system. Right now I am subleasing an office within another company that already has their won network and phone PBX system in place.
1. I need a stand-alone phone system with my own number(s) and phones aside and apart from the company that I am leasing from. Although I am in their building - I am a 100% seperate business and cannot use their phones (on a PBX system) - so I think Voip will work since I can use their network for internet access only.
2. # of phone lines desired: FOUR With one line to double for outbound faxing.)
4. Office (I am subleasing) already has a large and secure network in place).
Questions:
1. What phone adpater / equipment do I need to purchase to set this up?
2. Do I need a special multi-line phones to work with Vonage or will the Comdial and/or RCA phones that I have available work? (these are what are used on the PBX system, though I can use the phones themsleves for free if possible with Vonage)
3. I also have a Brother 5500 Multi-function fax / copier. Will it work with Vonage? PLEASE say 'Yes...'
4. What is the installation configuration? (I don't yet know too much about the company network that I will be tied into / sharing)
Anything else that may help!
THANKS YOU THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! |

Thank you for your reply. I have looked at the site you listed and my head hurts . While I am very literate, I am a business owner - not a programmer and I don't want to spend the next three years learning compliacted codecs and beta bug-fixes - I just want to pick up my phone and make a call.... Also, I am running Windows XP and this stuff (whatever it is) is for Linux. While I appreciate the input, I found nowhere on the site where it says "Step 1: Download 'X' and install 'Y'. Step 2: ........"
Is there a direct link for how to install this stuff, what it does, what I need to buy etc? |

Axon is pretty plug and play
http://nch.com.au/pbx/index.html
I used it for a while, but the server I had it installed on was very unreliable, so for now, since it's mainly a personal tinker thing I went with a hosted one. |
