Does vonage support voice-mail only accounts?

Hello,

just curious if Vonage actually supports creating a voicemail only account. I saw in the forum that it is possible but when I called Vonage support they had no idea what I was talking about. Any suggestions?

I'm basically looking to port an existing number and then just have it goto voicemail.

No. The accounts that are listed as Voicemail only are number that have been canceled within the past week and have not opted to take the 7 day temporary call forwarding to their number. The number will still hang on their account and go straight to voicemail for 7 days. This is not an option that Vonage will provide you with on a regular basis.

You can accomplish what you want. But it isn't something Vonage offers as something special. You can establish a Vonage line, port the number to it, and then have calls go to Voicemail immediately. You don't have to have your adapter connected and the calls will go to VM (as long as you don't have a network availability number or forwarding of some sort set up).

But you will have to pay the $14.95 rate for the 500 minute plan and just not use the minutes.
