You could also keep track of both of their minutes/messages and make the one who has the MOST minutes for the month pay all of the overage, or prorate the overage by the minutes they have used.
Good lesson in "things cost money". 
Or, better yet, give each of them a monthly allotment of minutes yourself. You should be able to track minutes used per month per phone. At the end of each month, even if your cell plan has not gone over, you should keep them accountable for their own limits on their minutes. Each kid gets, say, 300 minutes a month, with an overage charge that exactly matches what your cell company charges for overages. One kid uses 350 minutes, charge them for the 50 minutes. Just like they had their own cell plan that they were responsible for. |
