With SBC, I had two phone lines, one being a fax line. I had their so-called "Unlimited" plan, which basically meant that I wasn't going to get dinged for their "local toll" calls. Those were ones that were in-state but beyond 15 miles, which amounted to way more than half my calls. I had several of, but not all, their calling features. My phone bill with all those asinine taxes and fees--why are we STILL being assessed a tax that was instituted as a result of the Spanish-American War?!?--usually ran around $90 a month, give or take a few bucks.
My Vonage bill now for my two lines and more features runs around $48/month--a nice savings for me. |

Had Vonage passed the spousal approval test, my bill would have gone from $90+ to about $28, a very large savings.
As it was, my wife refused to switch, but I am enamored of the service, so I bought the $15 - really, $18 - a month plan as 'back up.'
So I guess my bill has gone up rather than down, but I'm still happy - I like Vonage a lot.

I have a tons of money with Vonage, and its has got features that phone company don't even offer. I was paying $45/month+tax for basic phone line with local toll and $10 for 500/min of LD throught extrenal provider. No Caller ID/ No call Waiting / no call forwarding/ nothing. Plus sometime I go over LD miniutes and get charged . My phone bill is averagfe about $~67/month with $49 for Cable Internet. 116/month in Communication.
Now with Vonage my bill is $35.00/month UNMetered!! with everyphone feature I ever wanted!. Access to phone log in realtime! I also got a Virtual number in California so I'm not just saving my self my money on phone bill. I'm also saving my parent's phone bill! Save me about ~$32. |

So too, are mine. Considerably more. More along the lines of 70-80%
But I'm no math major. |

Guess you should sue Geico too if you can't save 15% with them on car insurance. Too funny |

Actually, the Gecko lies. I went with Mercury Car insurance, and I ended up paying $400 less than I did last year, and about $600 less than what the Gecko had quoted me, despite not having had a moving violation in 7 years. Vonage is great, but I do think that the V-Phone service price should be more like the cost of AOL's soft phone service. I like my PAP2 (although I would be happy with the VTA also) I do feel that there should be some sort of packaged plan for existing Vonage subscribers who want to add a V-Phone or Wifi phone. |
