Router Vonage Hook Up

Ok, I was able to get my internet to work but my phone wouldnt work.

Cable Modem --> Router --> Vonage Box --> Computer

I have

Windows XP
Service Pack 2

Charter Communications <-- ISP

If i just connect the modem & vonage box I am fine (phone service wise)

However bringing the D-LINK router into play does not allow my phone service to work

I have

Cable Modem Enet --> D-LINK WAN --> Slot #1 = PHONE --> Slot #2 = Vonage *Have it connected to the Vonage "Internet" connection Plug area

Wifi / Internet on PC work fine

Its just the darn phone

Plug your computer into the router rather than the Vonage box. While the arrangement you have SHOULD work, plugging your computer into the router will solve the problem.

I don't understand this at all. You have two ethernet lines from the router to the Vonage box (slot 1 and slot 2)?? There should be just one ethernet line from the router (any LAN port) to the Vonage box WAN port.

Well its working and I think i may have explained it wrong?

The Modem Is connected into the ROUTER's WAN.

The router has 4 ports to plug up to 4 ethernet cords

#1 is the Computer (did i say phone?)
#2 goes into the Internet Slot on the vonage box

Didnt change anything, woke up a few hours later and it worked Smile
