I recently installed Hide IP Platinum on my computer. Before I installed it my bandwidth was around 2.44 MBPS. After I installed it my bandwidth has dropped to 380 KBPS. I tried uninstalling Hide IP Platinum but my bandwidth is still around 380 KBPS. I have my cable modem hooked up to my Vonage VT2442 router. I think when I installed Hide IP it changed some settings in the router but I don't know how to get into the settings to see if anything has been changed. I know with Linksys routers you just type admin in the user box to get to the settings but I haven't been able to figure out what I have to type to get to the router settings for my motorola Vonage router. |

This isn't the place to ask questions about HideIP, but I'll try to shed some light on the other questions.
The only thing HideIP could have done to your router would be through UPnP, which you can disable via the Advanced > UPnP section.
The user name is "router", as is the password (router). That is easily found in the manual.
You can always just connect your computer directly to the modem and see if that fixes things, but I would guess the HideIP left proxy settings in IE when you uninstalled it. |

When this happens to me, I just unplug the router, wait a minute, reconnect, and let the router reboot. It usually solves the problem with speed. |
