Those numbers look ok. FYI, you do not need to enable any port forwarding.
Are you running any P2P applications such as WinMX or Bittorent? |
Why don't you think I need port forwarding? Do you think it's causing problems since I have port forwarding enabled?
No I am not running any P2P applications.
The only thing I have on my Network is an ethernet router (Linksys BEFSR41 V3), a Wireless Access point (Linksys WAP11), and a Netgear Switch. There are 2 PCs connected via ethernet cable, a Laptop connected via wireless, a print server connected via ethernet and my PAP2 Vonage adapter connected via ethernet (connected to the router).
Thanks. |

Your detailed results look fine. Are the problems intermittent or regular? If they are intermittent then I would suggest rerunning the test when your are having quality problems. I would also suggest running a line monitoring program for a longer period of time, something like pingplotter or myvoipspeed. The latest PAP2 firmware from Linksys' site is 3.1.12. However Vonage might be running a different version. Some stupid questions intended to eliminate local traffic as a source of performance issues: Is your wireless network secured? Are you running antivirus software (with latest updates) on all PCs? Have you run spyware detection software on your computers? |

You don't need port forwarding because all Vonage-based traffic is initiated from your PAP2. I doubt it's causing the problems you're describing though. |
