Was the wireless working before you made the switch? Exactly how do you have the cables hooked up now?

yes it was working.

modem > internet port (RTP300) > port 4 (DI-524)

it seems like it might be a configuration problem. the ip for the DI-524 is 192.168.0.1 and the rtp is 192.168.15.1

Yes, that's what it sounds like. First, is the cable from port 4 on the RTP300 going to the WAN port on the DI-524? If so, plug your computer into an RTP300 LAN port and verify that it's set up as a DHCP server. Then plug into the DI-524 and verify that it's set up to get its IP dynamically. The default sub-net on the RTP300 is in the range 192.168.15.xxx . The DI-524 should not be getting an address of 192.168.0.1 .

Just to verify, it should not be getting that as its WAN IP. Thats it's default local IP, which should be okay.

Does it work with the D-Link in front, like it used to be?

If you have your wireless protected I would try it with WEP/WPA disabled and see if that helps.

well it used to work just fine until i put the rtp in front, so it is unlikely something is wrong with the wireless router. there is no wep or any encryption enabled
