I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to do.

I am getting poor sound quality during almost every call. If I do get good sound it can go from being clear to being very distorted as if I was calling overseas on a standard telephone line.

When on a call sometimes I can hear an echo of myself. People sometimes say I am over modulated and ask me what I said multiple times during a call.

Also I get what sounds like the other person sounds like they are in a hollow room with some static at times.

Its to be noted that this occurs while doing nothing online.. not even browsing the web.

My numbers seem good from both speed tests.... I have tried putting the VTA behind my Dlink 4900 Gamerlounge and also tried putting it right behind my cable modem so it can be by itself on the internet with its own ipaddress.

Any suggestions?

Your test results look VERY good. Almost too good which makes me wonder.

Do you have you quality settings set to high via the Vonage website? Turning your quality setting down to minimum will cause the hollow low quality analog sound you speak of.

The device is set at 90 according to my Vonage account.

I was thinking I should have perfect service as well.

I am on Road Runner Premimum in Ohio... 8Mbps\512kbps

Also when road runner was installed I had the tech install a brand new line coming to the house from the pole. My cable modem shows outstanding signal quality when I check it with minimal packet loss.

The latency in Cincinnati for RoadRunner is really amazing compared to when I had it 5 years ago. I went to our local DSL for a while because of it. They got all new motorola equipment here.

Any suggestions on what I can do before calling their support would be great.

Unfortunately, I think tech support is your best bet. Your test results are good and agreement between the different tests is pretty reasonable. The troubleshooting you've already done is what we would have recommended.
