Does anyone know if the Motorola VT2442 works with Macintosh computers. We have cable modem and 3 Macs. One of my roommates needs a landline, (she seems unwilling to get a cellphone, I don't know why) but I do not want to tell her to go with vonage and the Motorola VT2442 if all three of us cannot get on the internet, because frankly I am not willing to pay $70 a month for internet service that I cant use just so she can have a landline. It's getting a little testy here at our apartment, so if any Macintosh users out there could tell me of their experiences with Motorola VT2442, I would really appreciate it! |

There should be no issues that prevent a Macintosh from accessing the Internet through the VT2442.
How are the Macs currently connected to the Internet? If you had a four port router then you could simply connect an adapter and the Vonage installation would have no effect on the current Mac configuration.
Depending on how the Internet is being used and the quality of your Internet connection your Internet usage may interfere with the quality of Vonage calls. So, if you are doing a lot of file trading or streaming media you may have to investigate a more complex network setup to guarantee the call quality.
Who are you paying $70/month for Internet access? I sure hope it's fast.

| Kagan noted that the average price for broadband service in Q1 2006 was $39.45 per month from the top five cable MSOs, and $35.38 per month among four top telcos. Of the telco group, BellSouth priced highest in the survey at $42.25 per month, which was a few dollars above the cable industry average. |

Also, from the VT2442 user manual;
| Quote: |
The computers on the VT2442 network must:
• Have a 10Base-T or 10/100Base-T Ethernet adapter
• Be running Microsoft® Windows®, Macintosh® OS, Linux®, or UNIX® |
Emphasis mine. |
