I'm having the same problem as:

Whenever I make a call or receive a call, the other person can't hear the first second or two of the call. It's bad enough to where I'll have to get rid of the service if I can't get it fixed since I work from home and this is way too unprofessional. There is NO delay once the call is established.

My network setup has not changed in 9 months and it was working perfectly until about a month ago. My wife also has an RTP300 connected to the WRT54G and she claims she doesn't have this problem. Both are running the same firmware 1.00.62. Problem occurs even with no other traffic on the LAN.

RTP300's are set for static IPs with their Gateway pointing to the WRT54G.

1. Dallas, TX
2. Comcast
3. Upload=384K and download=3M
4. Motorola Surfboard
5. RTP300
6. Modem---->WRT54G running DD-WRT v23--->RTP300-->PC

Speed test statistics

Upload speed: 240704 bps (this reports lower than actual because I have QOS in the WRT54G limiting the PC upload)

Any suggestions? I haven't yet tried using only the RTP300 because it takes a while to reconfigure everything and my wife is ALWAYS on her phone!

I suspect that it's your RTP300. This was a problem with earlier versions of the firmware. It was greatly improved in later versions, but it was always there to some extent on my RTP300 (now deceased). It's possible that it's worse on some units than on others.

Mine was replace just a couple of days ago with the VT2442. I don't have enough experience with it yet to say if it has similar problems. Maybe someone else will jump in and voice an opinion on this.

I had a delay when answering a phone call when I had SimulRing turned on. When I turned that off I didn't have any delay of the other person hearing me when I answered the phone.

I also have this problem. I use the RTP300, and I haven't changed a thing in months. The problem started about a month ago, like a previous poster said.

I have SimulRing on, but it worked fine prior to a month ago.

I will test the SimulRing suggestion, but I love that feature...
I will also check my firmware version and post back if I get any result.

Hold on guys. I have had the same problem for almost a month now. For the pass week I been working with tech on the problem and found out for sure it was being caused by the SimulRing. They are aware of the problem and have a fix in the works. I was told it should be put into place early next week.

Excellent. That's a huge relief. I also have simulring on and my wife doesn't. If only "BOB" in India Tech Support had told me that rather than arguing with me for 45 minutes...!!!

Hi guys, Update:. Steve from Executive Response Team called today and said they are still in the testing stage of the SimulRing audio delay fix. He hoped to have in place by Friday. He will call me when it's in place and check with me to see if it's working properly.
