I signed up with Vonage and purchased the router through staples. The signup process was easy and they processed my credit card without hassles.
Trying to get my rebate is another thing!
3 months later....no rebate!!
When I check online it says that I do not qualify (one per household). What a scam!
I have never used this before and am due a rebate. It seems because we use Postal connections for our mail delivery (since the carriers cannot seem to properly deliver mail in our neigbhorhood), someone other than us signed up and must have received their rebate!!
Vonage utilizes technology as a good technology company should. They promptly bill you and let you know if the credit card on file is expired...emphasis on promptly. Yet they cannot or will not help with rebates...look the other way on technology there guys...great job.
No one at Vonage will respond and the rebates forum is conveniently locked...what gives?
geez. |

It has been three months for me and no rebate as well... Where did you check for it online? I got my Vonage from Circuit City and there was a $100 rebate after 60 days of paid service... I love Vonage, but want the rebate that I am due! |

I got mine from Circuit City, too. If I remember the fine print it said that the Vonage part of the rebate will come 6 to 8 weeks after 60 days of service. I have a few more weeks to go before I would consider it past due. (I see that the recent Circuit City rebates now total $150!!) |

I got my rebate like 4 months after sign up. Be patient, you'll get it.
As for the OP, yeah that's a bummer. Do a search on CEO and see if you can't find a number to reach that can help you. |

I receive this letter saying I am non-compliant with the terms of service "limit one per household"!! Yet this is the first rebate for us.
Funny as heck.
Had to chase down a number from Vonage and then called the company who handles the rebates per Vonage:
Thank you for contacting Customer Care.
We understand that you have contacted us with regards to rebate. To get assistance regarding this, please feel free to call the group we have dedicated to helping our Customers with their rebate inquiries, GFS customer service. Their number is 1-(800)-347-4017 and their hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8AM-8PM EST.
And guess what they say. Oops, we data entered your name incorrectly or twice, just disregard your non-compliance notice and we will be sending your rebate in 30 days.
Funny thing, we received another non-compliance notice a while back for a propane tank and we just disregarded it. It seems that this company or other "rebate" handlers have a pretty good scam going here
keep the rebate until someone actually calls to complain!.
Nice going Vonage...it would appear that you have unclean hands in this process... |

That's what they count on. That and people who don't bother to send them in. |

That's it exactly - if the redemption rate was 100%, they could save the cost of processing and your hassle of a rebate by just discounting the product at the initial point of sale, but a large number of people don't submit the rebates, or don't submit them correctly (lots of fine print) or don't keep the service for the required 30/60/90 days (depending on which rebate). |

Bypass all this garbage and call Mr.Citron directly. You'll probably get voicemail but believe me his response team will call you back. I had the same issue and they called and credited my account right on the spot! |

I have become a great deal aware of the rebate situation after searching the internet. Our programming and development team met today and I believe we are going to be launching a site devoted to this issue, where customers in mass can post "tickets" that identify the companies that abuse this type of rebate program. Not just the rebate handlers but the companies themselves who place business with the handlers.
Perhaps it will be a clearinghouse for a class action law firm to find business....
Shame that lawyers keep having to be given business, but, is there really options nowadays? |
