I have no clue what is happening. This started a few weeks ago, went away, then it started up again, and it's just annoying me. Whenever someone calls or if we call someone, after about a minute or two the call is either dropped or the person on the other line cannot hear us.

Judging from your speed test results, I see no reason to find fault in your FIOS connection. I would look at your #6 which you describe as DHCP server -> RT31P2. Is the server correctly configured to make sure that the rt31p2 has priority and all the correct ports forwarded to it? That would be the first place I'd look at since you have a great connection.

hope this helps.

What ports would have to be forwarded?

You might also want to try simply connecting the RT31P2 (temporarily) directly to the FiOS. See how that works.

That's how I set it up before. It worked fine, but every day the router would just stop functioning and I would have to go and reset it.

Geesh, that's a strange one. Did it ever work well with the DHCP server in there, or did the trouble start as soon as you changed the configuration? Is the call quality good up until the time that it drops or loses audio in one direction?

All of this actually started earlier this year for some reason which I still can't figure out. I didn't change anything, it just started happening. We first thought it was our internet connection so we switched from cable to FiOS, but that didn't solve it. So then we made the Vonage router the DHCP server and made it the "main" router, and that worked great, except every day the router would just freeze and stop working, so I would have to go down and reset it. So then we just got another router and made that the server, but then a few days later the problem came back.

Regarding the audio quality, it's great until it just drops or looses audio in one direction.

So far, from what I've seen, the port forwarding didn't solve anything, assuming I did it right. It's only been a few days, though, so I'll update a bit later.
