Post subject: International calls are poor quality. Local OK. What's up?
We are in California. I was talking to my brother in Australia last night and we had to give up as the call quality was so poor. My wife called her sister in Scotland this morning and she could not hear us occasionally. I was holding the phone the same way during the call. It seems the line volume at their end fades.
I cannot put up with this and will go back to AT&T if not resolved. Any help will be appreciated as the local calls are fine.
Scotincal.

I guess you will have to go back to At&T. Personally, I would rather go without phone service than go back.

I would try another
voip
provider before going back to telco personally. obviously the gateways
vonage
is using aren't up to snuff for the areas you're calling. have you tried calling at different times of day? I realize it's probably a pain with time zone differences, but am just curious if it's due to a lot of traffic.

Mustardman and Reebok. Thanks for the comments. Time of day is difficult to control with International calls as they have to suit both sides. I do think I will have to go back to Cu wires.
