The positive or negative designation is the trigger. The lightning itself is always negative. The average person should have a basic understanding ot this. This was covered in elementary school. |

You shouldn't assume that everybody has technical electrical knowledge of something so arcane and irrelevant.
This discussion is now over for the simple reason that you're making a mountain out of a mole hill. If I asked you what time it is, you wouldn't give me the time; you'd tell me how to build a watch.  |

Follow up. My VT2442 arrived today, right on schedule. Installation took about 2 minutes, and the unit ran for a couple of minutes before the power light stopped flashing and the phone light came on.
Call quality is excellent, except for a faint hiss that I didn't have with the RTP300. Overall it's quite acceptable.
I'd say tier 1 support did fine on this deal. |
