I got rid of all the extra crap Smile

I looked at the connection and for some reason there was a "internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" AND "internet Protocol (TCP/IP) version 6"
The version 6 one must have installed when I did the windows update when I redid my pc.

I'll try to see if I can set everything up now. It doesn't look as confusing.

I really don't know anything about uTorrent, but I do know that if you are trying to get a server on the Internet to connect to that address it won't work. That is a private address that can't be routed on the Internet. The server will need the Internet address assigned by your ISP, and that address may change from time to time.

If that address is a server that you are trying to connect to, it is still not an address that can be routed on the Internet. You will need to find a real address for the server.

K, I think you were right... the port forwarding doesn't work anymore. I actually can't even get into the port forwarding option in the router anymore.

It pops up an error "you must enter an IP address on LAN Clients page for the selected lan group to enter this setup"

If I go into LAN Clients it asks me to enter in the following:

Enter IP Address:
Hostname:
MAC Address:

How do I find out the mac address?

On an (XP) PC: Go to Start > Run, type "cmd", click OK, then type "ipconfig /all" - the adapter's MAC will be listed as its Physical Address.

So when I do that.. I put in the IP address, hostname and Mac Address exactly how it was listed when I did cmd. It popped up another error.
"ERROR: Error found on page" I tried with no dashes in the Mac Address and that had the same error.

How do I set this up or reset it to normal? The first time I got the port forwarding to work I didnt need to do anything to Lan Clients. Now it won't even let me in the port forwarding menu to edit.

How do I find out my real IP address as well because I dont think the one listed on cmd is correct.

I am having the same problems as you.

When you manually put in the Lan clients it flat out will not take the MAC addresss.

If you enter it without the MAC address it will take but forwarding does not work.

The router has a bug with basic port forwarding!

I tried setting the router back to the default settings, and I tried unplugging the router and the modem and pluging them back in. That didnt work either.

Does anyone know what I should do?
thx

EDIT: I may have fixed it now..

I've been fooling around with it for a while and I think I may have figured it out myself.

Before I got those errors, and now I dont.
What I did was got rid of the static IP. I went into my network connection and selected Obtain an IP address automatically, and the same for DNS server.

After I did that I went back into the Router config and I can now choose the Port Forwarding config and there is actually something listed in LAN Clients.

Now to set up the port forwarding it was pretty simple.. Went to "advanced" > "Port Forwarding". I clicked "User" under catagory and clicked "New" I just named it and put the port in there. After that it worked and sucessfully forwarded the port I wanted.

I didnt do anything else. There was nothing in "Custom Port Forwarding" either.

Try all that out Storm_Law and it should work for ya. Smile
