Hello, I just got Vonage service. I think it's great, but the problem is it doesn't work on my computer. My computer's headset, etc, is better than any regular telephone, so that's what I want to use. I am told that Vonage uses plain old SIP, and in fact Vonage's Softphone software is actually a SIP phone made by Xten. So, my thought is, there are plenty of SIP phones for Linux. Why couldn't I just use one of them? Has anyone gotten a non-Vonage SIP phone to work with Vonage? If I could somehow find out all the parameters I need, I think it would work.
