No.
a) Meebo doesn't really have any customers of its own. It merely provides a portal for customers for other services.
b) One of the biggest uses of Meebo is bypassing corporate blocks on IM. Once Yahoo! owns and absorbs Meebo it will be blocked by major corporations. Meebo kind of sneaks in under the radar at this point.
c) Recent peering agreements between Yahoo and MSN IM makes another Meebo benefit a non-starter.
Yahoo! would be better served by owning part of Meebo and keeping it independent for now. They would, as part of this deal, have to figure out how to get Meebo to generate more Yahoo! customers. Perhaps by encouraging Meebo customers who don't have Yahoo! IM accounts to register with Yahoo for access to some additional features. |

Every person who uses meebo is a customer of meebo. While they are connecting to AIM, Yahoo Messenger, etc. their eyeballs belong to Meebo. Yahoo Messenger only makes money when the user sees the ads in their client. If meebo decides to put advertising on their site then you'd have to classify these users as Meebo's customers, not Yahoo's.

Meebo isn't that small anymore. A lot of companies and universities are starting to ban it. However, with a proxy repeater you can just route the traffic through your home computer, which certainly isn't on the blocked IP list. Unless you have a serious router issue at home it's pretty much unblockable.
c) Recent peering agreements between Yahoo and MSN IM makes another Meebo benefit a non-starter.
These agreements allow cross service instant messaging. However, if you use meebo to bypass corporate firewalls or just because you are on the run then network interoperability doesn't help you very much. You still need a web based portal to your buddy list.
