Very weird situation, any help will be greatly appreciated!! I live in an apartment complex and my friends live in the same complex. Both of us have same cable internet service (COX Communications) and Vonage service. Both of us use cordless phones. Only when we talk to each other, everything will be working fine and all of a sudden one of us will lose voice, but everything else is there. To fix the problem, we both have to unplug our routers. I think it might have to do with us being on the same local network with Vonage, but I'm not really sure. Some one help us out! I have run network tests on my Voip and it is usually average |

You may have the right answer, but to eliminate it as a possibility, one or both of you should ditch the cordless phone temporarily. See if that makes a difference. |

you aren't on a local network. you just happen to be near someone on the same isp. if you consider that a local network, then your local network consists of every cox subscriber. http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic7191.html either of you using a wireless router and 2.4ghz cordless phones? |

We both are not using a wireless router and my cordless is 2.4G. I wasn't exactly referring to us as being on a LAN, I was referring to our neighborhood bandwidth sharing. Cable internet has areas where people in the same neighborhood share bandwidth, more users in your neighborhood less bandwidth. We are on the same trunk. |

The fact that you're not using wireless eliminates interference between the cordless phones and routers, but since you're close together, there's still the possibility of interference between the phones themselves. |
