I have had Vonage service for about a year now and I am very pleased with a service and cost of it. We have moved to UK were I have signed up for a UK account. Vonage UK does not offer wireless router, so I got wired one wich I could care less for it. Yeah, I could hook up one into other but I would really like to use just one. WRTP54G has the sleekest design and it is a workhorse. Is there a chance of Vonage swapping mac address from my US account to my new UK account? If not, is there a way of either changing mac manually, with a help of some software or swap some parts? I have opened WRTP54G hoping to be able to swap a mac card (it is removable on WRTP54G). To my disappointment RT31P2 is downgrade of WRTP54G in every way. I am sure it works fine but it is not what I want. |

If you ring UK customer service 0800 008 6000 and explain what you want to do, the agent should be able to engineer the swap. I presume you still have both accounts active.
This shouldn't be a problem--it's been done many times by customers moving from North America to the UK.

They reply was that US mac address and UK mac address are not inter changable. Have called them already, so will see what happens. I have told them to swap and the tech said ok!? Still waiting for my broadband to be hooked up. Got Vonage for 7.99 (free to USA, Canada, Australia,France,Italy and some other countries) and cable broadband for 14.99 plus a virtual US number for family and friends to call me at their local rate. (not all of them have Vonage) Just could not handle bs from BT. So overpriced that reminded me of AT&T long time ago. |
