No dial tone in my Vonage service.
The MTA on the motorola vt1000 is on continuously.
Rebooted the motorola adapter by switching off power and going to 192.168.102.1 and hitting the reboot button.
Disconnected and reconnected the connection to the router.
Rebooted the home network by shutting off the modem, etc.
The internet connection is working fine.

Have been having problems of intermittent dial tome loss and call disconnect and poor voice quality for about 2 weeks.
Emailed Vonage today... no response, there customer service ****, phone call takes forever to get through.

Please help.

Most of your Voip results got cut off. Please re-run the test and post everything listed on the advanced tab. Also run a comparison test with a test call to Boston at www.testyourvoip.com and post the detailed results.

Your testyourvoip results have a level of packet discards that would explain the choppiness, dropped calls and so forth. I presume that the lack of dial tone is an intermittent thing (?) The forum Voip test seems to disagree about the packet discards, but the other results match your symptoms.

Please remove the VT1000 and repeat the test call to Boston. In fact, do it with the wireless router out of the picture as well- just modem and computer. If the packet discards drop way down, then one of your pieces of gear is the problem; if not, you have a problem to discuss with your internet service provider.
