I would like to be able to use a Vanity 800 Number on Vonage, and be able to know that I can take that number with me if for some reason I switch from Vonage in the future.
Also we should be able to port an 800 to Vonage.
There are many vanity 800 number providers out there and I would like to be able to either get one on Vonage or get one from an outsider and port it in.
This is a big deal for business's.
Another thing I would like to see is a better rate plan for 800 numbers. Such as 9.99 for 500 minutes, etc. I do not think we should only be limited to a 100 minute plan. |

Being able to get or port and 800 number would be nice... I think they'll probably have to fix the whole issue with so many 800 numbers not working in certain areas first though. Great suggestion though. |

All Vonage calls appear to originate from one location, so regional 800 calls will not always work. |

I would be using my 800 number for my home business in California. Is there any reported problems with persons in California calling an 800 number supplied by Vonage?
I would not want to go get business cards printed up and modify my websites unless I knew my customers could call me. |

800 numbers only have problems when a person tries to call a 1-800 number that is not open to people in New Jersey. For example, if you live outside of Canada, to get in touch with Citizenship and Immigration Canada you would have to call an embassy, the 800 number only works for people calling from inside Canada. So if I wanted to call the Agency, I wouldn't be able to because me call is originating from outside of the country, Many businesses in both the U.S. and Canada have regional restrictions on their numbers -- some even restrict callers from inside their own country. But asl long as NJ residents can call an 800 number, Vonage customers can too. |

Sounds good to me. All I would be worried about is California customers calling me within California on the 800 number. I will also use call hunting for my local number that is when I get my main number ported over. |

I use http://get1800.com/ for my tool free # and it forwards to my local number...
That way if you do switch provider you can just change the ring to number. |

Thanks for your reply. I will check it out! They charge 2 bucks per month and 3.9 cents per minute. It looks like a good deal to me. |
