The ip address 192.168.0.1 is the standard ip address for a router. But b/c your Vonage router has an ip address of 192.168.15.1, the two routers are not on the same subnet. As a result, if you plug in your computer into the Vonage router and type in 192.168.0.1, it will not be able to access the dlink wireless router. So in order for you to be able to access both routers without having to plug and unplug your computer ethernet cable, it is best to have them all on the same subnet by subnet I mean 192.168.15.xxx where xxx stands for the last 3 digits.
So if you have your Vonage router as 192.168.15.1, then you can assign your dlink router as 192.168.15.150. Then all your computers will have a number inbetween say 192.168.15.101 etc...
This way, all the computers and routers can see each other without issues.

do I need to do anything else to keep people from hacking into my systems? What else do you recommend if anything for privacy and security... thanks!
This is a bit off topic for this forum since it's intended to deal with Vonage issues.
However, one thing I did do with my wireless router is to disable it's ID so that no one out there could know that it is running. It never hurts in my opinion.
