As with most people, the switch to Vonage seems great; save money, and get tons of features. Having gone through pretty much everything, here are a few things that I found not quite to my liking;

1. Vonage was speedy with delivering the adapter, but I soon learned that with their temporary number, only one phone can be attached.

2. Since the existing phone line still works, only one phone can be used, and considering that it takes '10 days' for the letter of authority to pass, it is quite useless to use the temporary number.

3. Their '10 days' is not actually 10 days. I completed my letter of authority perfectly (with my existing telephone company bill in hand, and with a Vonage representative on the line), and it was rejected.

4. Vonage claims to send an email if the letter of authority is rejected, which never happened.

5. After calling Vonage about 25 days after signing up and submitting the LoA, I found out that it had been rejected, and that it was resubmitted with changed information. The document whos contents I had to sign was changed by Vonage

6. I 'received' an additional month service (I even repeated "so this means I got TWO (2) months free?"). Yet I was billed again.

7. Upon calling to question why I had been billed, I was told that the representative I talked to made no credit, no call logs, nothing.

8. Since I was still within my 30 days (last day, 10 minutes from the next day), I requested to have my account cancelled. Although their support work late on Sundays, the cancellation department only works M-F.

I managed to get a nice, understanding representative, and wrote that I wanted to cancel within the 30 days, but they were not open. As well, he said that he would find out what happened with the no credit, no call log problem. I will find out whether my account is cancelled tomorrow.

You can use more than one phone, even with the temporary number.

I could not receive incoming calls from my cell phone, and everyone I spoke to at Vonage told me that damage could result if more than one phone was connected using the temporary number. I changed it, and then it worked.

Damage would occur if you tried to use both your POTS and Vonage on the same line in the house, but the number of phones shouldn't matter.
