I just had Dish Network installed two days ago. Comcast Cable is my ISP. I am serioulsy considering going with Vonage but I want to make sure that my DN receivers will work both for calling out and for Caller ID. Also, PPV if possible.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
VL

Vonage, or any Voip service, is unlikely to work well with a satellite internet service. The delays are just too great. Do a search on the Voip forum and you'll find this discussed many times.

He has Comcast...that's cable, not satellite...

They should work, but it would be worth searching the forum for their model to see what success others have had.

I have a Dish Network 625 connected to my Lynksys router and everything works fine including the caller ID function on the 625. Go for it!

Not to be a smart ass, but did you go into the setup menu and enable the caller ID function? I recently changed over from DTV to Dish for the HD and have found no issues with the phone connection. My 622 is plugged into a phone jack that is at least 75' from my Vonage router and the caller ID functions every time. Also have a wireless jack on the box upstairs and no problems there either. My old SAT-T60 stopped making successful calls a year ago, yet the R10 had no problems. No nag screens anymore, much nicer.

I have Dish Network and I have my 322 connected and it works including the caller ID. I suggest however you connect your reciever to the back of the Vonage adapter using a spliter (the kind that turns 1 jack into 2) connect your reciever line into 1 opening and the phone you use into the other...I would then test it to be sure. Check your Dish account thru your recievers remote. If that works then you are allset. If it doesn't call Dish Network tech Support and they can talk you thru how to set your receiver up to use with Vonage. The only real thing you have to remember is that the reciever checks for a dialtone randomly 2 or 3 times a week if it "hears" a dialtone you have nothing to worry About. Also, BE SURE to call Dish Network and give them the Vonage number if you did not PORT your old number over so that they can update your account, other than that you should be fine....Good Luck.
