Post subject: Help w/ CompUSA Router
Good day - I am having the same problem about no incoming calls after several hours when plugged into a compusa router/firewall.
-The problem with this compusa router is that I don't think
I can simply open up ports bi-directionally. It has the ability to permit specific individual outbound "trigger ports" and then when open up any range of inbound ports.
If I open up port 69, 5060, 5061 as trigger ports would that work?
-I noticed a message post that there are other ports that need to be opened. Is that true?
I don't think I can forward specific port activity to a device. I can try and use
a DMZ function to put the ATA in the DMZ - that might work also - but all traffic is forwarded to the ATA. What a pain..
-Can I use the netgear router sold by
Vonage
and then uplink the connection to the -wireless router? The ATA then would be in the netgear's port for maximum compatibility.
Anybody use this router? Should I dump it for a netgear?
Thanks again for your help w/ this.

most routers allow you to open ports to certin destinations within your lan for tcp and udp so yours should work but otherwise yes you can get the
Vonage
one hook it to your broadband hook your router to it.. and hook the ata to it
