Dave - there's a pre-requisite to joining my new company - you have to have some stuff on your CV about being investigated by the Securities & Exchange Commission in the past - I hear that really works these days.

But if you've got that then you're in and we'll pay you an insane salary!

Yeah baby - give me a high monkey five!

Smack! High five back at ya!

I have no SEC investigation to report of, however, I have been investigated for the "storing, sale, and distribution" of large and small-sized blowup dolls of Dick Cheney, for what could be questionable uses. Does that make be eligible? Very Happy

I'll take less of a salary if I can get a jacuzzi tub in my office, vice a desk. I will also require a telephone that works underwater.

Vonage's strategy is not just to increase sales but rather to be the leader in this new technology (VOIP).

Telephone services are becoming a commodity product, yet if you think objectively there are not very many new players in the sector.

There are the cable companies, the telecoms and a few start ups like Sun Rocket. Starting a residential Voip telephone company is a money losing proposition. Who would or could start such a company today??? Answer: Nobody!!! The companies you see today are probably the ones that you'll see 5 years from now. If they are in business.

Yet most people agree that Voip is going to grow dramatically over the next 5 years. Who will get the growth.

Most of the bears on this stock think that the cable companies will get the lion's share. It is unclear to me. These forums have been a good venue to debate who will win. Cable companies have central billing; Vonage has portability. Cable companies have better customer support; Vonage has better pricing. Who knows?

I use Vonage and don't intend to change. I haven't had a reason to change. i also fully understand that Vonage's pricing strategy won't be the same if they are successful 5 years from now. At that time, you can expect them to bump up prices (Just like the cable companies did with their TV programming),

Trillian, The man in this add is holding up the sales chart of the traditional phone companies, as their sales are down, way down, Vonages sales are up,way up, which could be reflected in charts of the traditional phone companies charts being up side down, because sales for the traditional phone companies are down, ah way down. You see mate, Vonage's sales are inverse of traditional phone companies. Again Mate, Just thought you wanted to know, Vonage's sales are up, ah, there way up.

Sales don't have a relationship to stock price. Vonage looses money on every dollar of sales. Until they show a concrete plan for reversing that trend, the PERCEIVED value (the only thing that really counts in stock price) will not make investors bid up the price.

Yea, We know, But did you go to the link that Trillian sent. This was an interesting ad, however it referenced sales, not stock price. My reply was to Trillian's Link.. (See link)

A lot of people however don't like Vonage and do change their service. 2.11% of customers cancel each month. That's 25.32% a year. The figure (the churn rate) would be even higher, but it does not include those who cancel in the first month.

Also, Citibank, which as co-lead underwriter of the IPO knows Vonage's business better than any of us, thinks this number went up in the second quarter.

I haven't posted any links. My reponses in this thread have been to your original post about the stock price going "up up and away" going up a dollar within a day and hitting $11 "within a week". I assumed you were holding the graph upside down.

I still assume that you're holding the graph upside down.

You should listen to ShelChgo - wise words, put slightly more politely than I did.....
