I have a sonicwall tz 170 and line 1 works fine but line 2 won't ring. I found in my log file that sip port 5061 is getting dropped although 5060 does not.
Originally I went with the SIP Transformations on the Voip page and that got me up and running fine for line 1.
To try and get line 2 working I've done everything I can think of from allowing all traffic from the Voip proxy to allowing port 5061 from anywhere. These are not long term solutions but just to see if I could get it to work and then work backwards from there.
Is this a bug in my sonicwall? It's os enhanced 3.1.0.7e.

I've not used that particular Sonicwall unit, but I'd suggest opening UDP traffic to 5061. I don't think this is a "bug" per-say, just a matter of getting the right settings in there. 5060 is the "standard" SIP port, 5061 is an alternative used when there's more than 1 SIP line on a single device.

Please forgive me is I'm rude, I don't mean to be, but I did write in the original post that I opened up 5061.
This seems to be something intermittant b/c since then I've gotten this to work with no changes to firewall rules or nat. Then I'll restart the sonicwall and it won't work again.
The drops also have shown for port 5060 which is SIP port 1. Strange thing is the drops seem to have nothing to do with the firewall rules but happen some times and then stop even without adding rules. I've finally realized I'm chasing a moving target.

I just wanted to make sure that you had UDP opened on that port. I've had a few times where I've opened up ports on firewalls for Voip and just opened them for TCP/IP and not UDP, which blocked the traffic.

As far as it being a moving target, does the Sonicwall have some sort of adaptive setting? Voip does send out a flurry of packets. I know I've had huge firewall logs (and many text messages to my cell) when one of Vonage's RTPs doesn't disconnect and sends a ton of packets my way for 2-3 hrs. At that point, my firewall would block all access to/from that server for a couple of hours as well.

The firewall is dropping them for a reason, so something has to be amiss. Would you be willing to post some of the logs (sanitized for your protection)?
